As you know, our group has many talented members, including artists of all types. One of those is Chris Correale, who is featured this quarter at the Caw Caw Interpretive Center County Park, located about 35 minutes from the gates of Seabrook Island at 5200 Savannah Hwy., Ravenel, SC 29470.

Please welcome our first featured artist of 2024, Chris Correale.
A lifelong fascination with nature inspired her to pursue decorative decoy and songbird sculpture.
Working with carving tools and wood burner, her framed realistic basswood feathers are painstakingly carved, textured and painted with oils. She also carves butterflies and dragonflies using highly figured wood and takes advantage of the unique wood grain to create the wing patterns.
Her award winning work has been shown in various carving competitions including the Ward Foundation World Carving Competition. Along with doing her art, Chris became a Master Naturalist in 2016.
