Over the years, our club has made significant donations to organizations such as Avian Birds of Prey and SCDNR for shorebird research and preservation. We continue to seek out new opportunities that help protect the beautiful bird populations that inhabit and migrate through our great island. Along with a portion of your membership dollars and members generous donations Seabrook Island Birders can provide support for many important programs.
With your support, we have implemented our Shorebird Stewards program, installed and managed over 70 Bluebird houses on our island, and in 2025, erected Purple Martin pods at the equestrian center. To learn more about all these projects, please visit our website at sibirders.com.
As a club we have recently made the following contributions:
April 2026 – $500 to St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center, Barrier Island Education Program supporting youth Camps focused on conservation education
September 2026 – $5,000 to The Avian Conservation Center (Birds of Prey) Education Department Supporting in School Conservation Education Programs with live birds
March 2025 – $1,000+ to the Avian Birds of Prey Medical Clinic following their live Owl program here on Seabrook Island
