Migration is a 2023 American animated adventure comedy film produced by Universal Pictures and Illumination, and distributed by Universal. The story follows a family of mallards who try to convince their overprotective father to go on a vacation of a lifetime and attempt to migrate from New England, through New York City, to Jamaica.
When I saw the movie, I was initially disappointed that it wasn’t a realistic movie about bird migrations. Then I sat back and enjoyed the animation, humor and the personalities given the various birds in the movie.
After the movie was in theaters, I watched it on Amazon Prime. It will be available to see at Freshfields Villages “Movies on the Village Green” at 8:30pm Wednesday July 17. I plan to attend so bring your lawn chairs, drink of choice and join some bird nerds laughing at the antics of these animated characters. Of course it is also available on DVD or Amazon.
“A Birds Eye View” is an opportunity for SIB members to share/review books, articles, movies or games they think other birders may enjoy. Send your suggestions to SeabrookIslandBirders@gmail.com.
