Slow Birding? What is this new activity? Come join SIB members near the home of Melanie and Robert Jerome at the boat ramp on Creek Watch Trace on Seabrook Island on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 4:00p-5:30p.

You will learn a new way to look at birds. No pressure or distractions to identify the bird and no lists or technology distractions. Another name for slow birding could be mindful birding or orintherapy. We all need relief from pressures we face. Our minds and bodies need nature. We will just look at birds and long as they will let us. You just need to look out your window and birds are everywhere. Let’s stop and watch with an open mind and see if we can tell what the birds are doing and saying. Lets question everything. Let’s slow our pace. There will be seats available to sit and bird (wheelchair accessible).

Bring binoculars or camera and bug spray.   Limit 12.

This event is free for SIB members or $10 for non-members.  If you would like to become a 2025/2026 SIB member, you can follow the instructions on our website: http://sibirders.com/join-sib/.

Once you are a member, please register no later than November 12, 2025. All registrants will receive a confirmation letter the day before the activity.
