As Seabrook Island Birders continues to celebrate its 10th anniversary, we are continuing to expand on our mission—and invite you to be part of what comes next. Our programs foster a love of birds, deepen understanding, and advance conservation. Now, through a new philanthropic initiative supporting youth education, your membership contribution and donations can carry that impact far beyond our organization.
To turn this vision into action, we formed a Philanthropy Committee to support bird-related projects that reach beyond our membership and inspire the next generation of bird lovers.
That impact is already taking flight. On September 23, 2026, we funded a 90-minute assembly for 165 third-grade students at Johns Island Elementary School. Led by Drew, an educator from the Avian Conservation Center (Birds of Prey), the program brought students face-to-face with a Peregrine Falcon, a Spectacled Owl, and a Harris’s Hawk as the birds soared through the assembly room and over students and teachers.

SIB members have experienced the wonder of Avian Conservation Center programs at the Lake House. Together, we can give young people that same unforgettable encounter—and spark a lifelong connection to birds and conservation.
With your help, we can bring more engaging bird-related programs to young audiences in our neighboring communities. Every paid membership and every supplemental donation will help open the door to the next transformative experience..

Our annual membership drive will start in October, so please plan to join, renew, donate. Your support puts inspiring programs within reach, nurtures the next generation of bird lovers, and strengthens the future of conservation. Together we can make a lasting difference.
