Happy St. Patrick’s Day to the Irish by heritage and Irish by heart. Many celebrate by wearing their favorite green wardrobe. In honor of the day, we want to “look” at some of our green feathered friends.
Three ducks come to mind…Wood Ducks and Mallards with their green heads and of course Green Winged Teals.

Also found at water’s edge are Green Herons. (Picture by Jackie Brooks)
Although not Kelly Green, we can see green birds in our yards, especially in the summer.

Black-throated Green Warblers are occasionally seen in Charleston County but I’ve only seen in the Upstate. I hope to see again this spring.
When we travel, we see many more green birds.

We would hate to end our “look” at green birds without including a look at Gina Sander’s Yellow-headed Amazon named Magoo.

I hope you have a great day celebrating the green.
