Our Purpose
Seabrook Island Shorebird Stewards are an integral part of a network of South Carolina Coastal Shorebird Steward programs. These volunteer programs are focused on Shorebird species that have seen dramatic declines over the last few decades. Sesbrook Island Shorebird Stewards educate people about the significance of the shorebirds that inhabit or migrate through our island and how to help protect shorebirds from further declines. It is not about enforcement, but about education.
Shorebird Stewards are grateful for the support of Charleston, SC Area members of South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, US Fish and Wildlife Services, The National Audubon Society, as well as the Town of Seabrook Island, and Seabrook Island Property Owners Association.
